First it is the symbol of the Japanese monarchy, which is the longest continuous monarchy on earth. Emperor of Japan

Second it is stamped on the cover of Japanese passports- so it is a symbol of Japanese nationality.

Third- it is stamped on the 50 yen coin- so it is always close at hand. 50 yen coin – Wikipedia

Lastly, white is a Japanese symbol of death, and the white chrysanthemum is also commonly used at funerals because of the connection with death and grief. For this reason, do not present anyone with white chrysanthemums in Japan!
