I have no idea what this is, but I bet Bob will tell us. Gerbera? Mum? He did!!!  Bob from LWBUT (Love Will Bring Us Together) after much research, identified this as a Snowcap Shasta Daisy.  I have labeled him the “Pit Bull of Flower Identification.” Never once has he failed to identify a flower which is, as he has stated, almost impossible to do anymore because of the people who post photos they incorrectly identify.  I have probably been guilty of this myself just through a glitch in memory–similar to calling my longtime friend Gloria, Phyllis!!! And Brad, Bruce and my cat by my dog’s name.  Is it chemicals in the diet or advancing age? Perhaps Bob knows.

    Sheesh – you like to give a guy a challenge huh??

    I’m going to say definitively it is a member of the Asteracaea Family of plants!!

    As that includes Mums, Daisies, Gazanias and Asters as well as several dozen other flowers it hardly makes finding the right one simple!

    I thought it was a ‘daisy’ type of Chrysanthemum as opposed to the regular pom-pom type but it seems to have ‘double’ petals (at least) which rules our most daisies and gazanias. I thought i had found it in images that were called Chrysanthemum morifolium only to find on checking that the guy has posted a dozen or so photos all over Google Images and given them all the wrong description (Grrrrrrr).

    The problem is all the chrysanthemum ‘daisies’ seem to have too many flowerettes in the centre and almost all are photographed as the flower opens and before the flowerettes fully open out as in your pic.

    I think i might have found it though! I’m calling it a variety of white perennial Aster – http://www.juliadimakos.com/perennial-white-asters/

    It’s getting very hard to identify flowers correctly now as many people see a flower that looks a little like the right one and name it that way with the pic even though it is not the right name.

    Scrap that last answer – it’s yet another example of people not naming a flower correctly because it looks a little bit similar. (Asters have longer thinner leaves and are generally single, ‘flat’ daisies.
