What happened to dragons? What happened to fairies?
Banished by scientists and actuaries,
their truth of existence just can’t be computed.
The fact they exist is too soundly refuted.
Yet every child, awake in his bed,
knows they exist right there in his head!
The dVerse Poets prompt today was to write a quadrille (44 words) on the subject of dragons.
Yes! And sometimes under the bed, too… 😉

Oh, especially under the bed. I well remember being afraid to put my foot or hand over the edge of the bed.

Of course dragons and fairies exist — just like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny!

Oh, yes that’s beautifully done. I love the actuaries. I can imagine them solemnly declaring the non-existence of dragons and fairies. We know better, of course.

I knew them too. At times I miss them. 🙂

I was never afraid of dragons. Only such things as demons and vampires.

I miss the tooth fairy.

Wonderfully done. I don’t worry too much about science negating the magical evidence of our own hearts. After all, those who deny the existence of dragons are often eaten by them. 😉

I think we lose the ability to see the dragons when we grow old.
