Rainy Season Vignettes

The rainy season came on with a vengeance late this afternoon,

driving the dogs to my door, begging for admittance in spite of the fact that they had their own snug doggie domain just feet away,

driving the cats away from their dinner on the patio outside the kitchen door

to their snug haven in the garage,

and furnishing uninvited guests with a banquet of soggy kitty kibbles. Guess which ones love the rain?

(You must click on the above photo to really see it well.)

And, it fed the flowers, too!!!

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

It was so weird.. they were gathered around the feeding bowl just like the four cats used to be. I am now down to two outside cats, but looks like what I’ve lost in cats I’ve gained in snails.

That’s so crazy – I wonder how they found the love for cat food!? LOL – you’ve gone from cat whisperer to snail whisperer. The snails carry their own houses with them, so that’s kind of nice in a way 😉

Wow!! What a sweet reminder of your lovely home and your furry friends. I checked with two of our friends who had come to stay with us at your house about pet sitting for you since they already know the drill, but both of them have plans already. August is tough in Seattle, because there’s so much activity. I have a couple other friends who I trust and who love animals. Shall I check in with them as well?

Even if you don’t need pet sitters, we are hoping to get back down for a visit with you this coming winter.

Oh and we bought a new house so are moving in a few weeks. OMG what a headache! And I have so much stuff it’s just horrifying.

Thinking of you often. Enjoying your blog and pictures. Take care.

Do you feel like you’ve recovered fully from your surgery, Catherine? Hope you have help with the moving. Send photos! Yes of course you are welcome to come whether I go anywhere or not. I appreciate your efforts in trying to find a housesitter. Let me check with one friend who said perhaps they’d be interested and get back to you. BIG rain last night…J
