When I published a photo of the second most expensive purse in the world yesterday, I guess it was inevitable that someone would ask what the most expensive one was. David Davis, this is for you:
This Mouawad purse sold a Christie’s auction in Hong Kong in 2011 for $3.8 million. It is encrusted in diamonds and took 8,800 hours to make. I’m wondering where you would carry a purse like that? Certainly not to the movies!

I can sorta understand this purse’s value both as an art piece and because of the value of the diamonds, but still think the second most expensive purse in the world is just plain ugly. I wouldn’t buy it in a garage sale.

That first one was truly ugly. The second one at least has diamonds, so it has some inherent value as art and gemstones. But the first? Really? And someone actually PAID the money?

The Oscars maybe? Then you lock it up in a safe and never use it until you get tired of insuring it, so you sell it. It will NEVER be used.
Here’s a point to mention: many people who own very expensive jewelry have copies made in cheaper stones. They wear cheap copies and store expensive jewels. So what’s the point? Is it an investment? If so, aren’t there easier to manage investments?

I actually have the perfect laptop purse.. They do make them, not specifically for that but it is perfect.

I have a laptop bag that looks nothing like a laptop bag which I bought years ago and nothing every fit in it … until I got the Mac which fits in it perfectly.

This is a copy of an old Judith Lieber design, made in diamonds and stuff for someone who, undoubtedly, can only sit on a toilet made of 24 carat gold.
