Grossed Out by Liver
Have you ever seen the quiver
of a plate of raw red liver?
Shake it and you’ll see it shiver.
Blood runs right out and forms a river.
If mom cooks it, I won’t forgive her.
I will not eat a gol darn sliver!!
For Whimsygismo’s dVerse Quadrille (exactly 44 words) prompt of Quiver. Phew!!!
Another of those things I cannot eat, or I’d quickly down your portion!
Liver and onions
Favorite offal when cooked
Liver and bacon!

I love liver and onions with nashed potatoes and lots of gravy. But I won’t touch tripe!!

My mother hated liver as much as I did so we never had it I’m pleased to say 🙂 The school cook served it up often though…

My mother hated it, too. I’ve never eaten it. Can’t stand the look of it.

I remember being forced to eat it at primary school and gagging on it.

It’s beyond me how people can make kids eat things.

‘It’s for their own good’. As if eating red meat, especially offal is good for any one!

Just calling it offal creates an identification with carrion.

Yes, it doesn’t sound very attractive, does it?

Also, a near rhyme to “awful.”

I have never been able to stand liver, and this makes me stand it even less.
My sister once experienced having to cut up liver on a ship in high seas… her description of the liver rolling back and forth was almost as revolting as yours.

Yuck. Combine liver with seasickness and it’s about as bad as you can get.
