Empty Datebook

Empty Datebook

Another lonely Saturday. The singles are all vexed—
a world of restless wallflowers, feeling they’re surely hexed.
If I may be candid, Corona’s not at fault.
You’re not some precious treasure, sealed up in a vault.
If we did our homework, we’d know the truth of it.
You didn’t have that many  dates  before the virus hit!

Prompts today are Saturday, Candid, Lonely, Vex and Homework.

I have felt that there’s lots of socializing between singles and the service people that we see on a daily basis — I really miss that! I’ve had a couple of Zoom meetings each weekend to break the monotony, and a couple of tele-health calls in the last week. Tomorrow a friend is coming over for a short visit — we’ll probably sit outside on the patio, and enjoy each other’s company, but it won’t be quite the same as before! And the days are all beginning to blend together — I THINK it’s Saturday right now ~ ~ ~

I woke up and didn’t know if it was morning, early afternoon or evening!! No idea whether i’d slept all night or white time I lay down on the couch to blog because my back was tired..And somehow I see at least one person a day..in the street, usually. I just noticed dogs had shredded my garbage that I’d hung high off the light pole on a hook I had installed. i think it’s still out there. I’ll deal with it tomorrow…

You are so right, even Alexa stopped talking to me today. May be the bad words I used when I wanted classical music and I got Rap, but then she put my computer into “airplane mode” and I had to use my Air Mac. (they are coming to get us~!)

Ha. She’s a vengeful little thing but so handy. Problem is I keep forgetting her name so I feel like a Saturday Night Live character! Finally wrote it on a sticker and stuck it to my computer. Shhh. Don’t tell.

I have a bad habit of calling her elissa. I know that she does not like me, and most times the feelings are mutual~! But at least I have someone to yell at that will not answer back.
