Ten days ago, I published a photo of a totally white flower with a white ball in the center. Yolanda called it an arete flower, I knew it as a fuchsia and suspected it was a bleeding heart, but I’d never seen a totally white one before. A few days later, the white ball had turned red and I published another photo of it. Now, here it is opened up. Not a bleeding heart, but definitely a fuchsia and what Yolanda calls, in translation, an earring plant.
Here are links to the two earlier stages of the plant: https://judydykstrabrown.com/2020/05/01/white-fuchsia-fotd-may-1-2020/

Ten days ago, I wondered if it was a fuchsia — now I see it! It’s beautiful!

I sent Pasiano to the vivero with money and told him to surprise me. I couldn’t believe he’d bought an all-white flower but it surprised me. Then it nearly died. Now seems healthy again.

So much more simple than most.. and I can’t get over that they start totally white.. and then the ball turns red!
