State of the Nation
Faith is growing cynical. Grace is wearing out.
Happiness is in the doldrums. Patience wears a pout.
Our country that connoted fairness and liberty
now holds us in its fist. We are anything but free.
Its silver saber tarnished, we’re falling to its blade.
So much for all those plans our founding fathers made.
Prompt words for the day are cynical, grace, connote and silver. First image from Unsplash used with permission.

Well done! Speak truth until justice runs down like a river (Amos 5:24). Silence is an enabler, so thank you.

I keep thinking I’m going to write about only cheerful things but then something happens and it is impossible not to comment…xo

I wish I didn’t! (Kidding. Yesterday was the first time I’ve had a drink in more than a month and that was just because a friend who is a bad influence visiting. Don’t know who to blame the gin and tonic I’m drinking now on.

I could be tempted! But I don’t drink when I’m in a bad mood and there isn’t much to be happy about right now!

That’s actually a good policy. I don’t usually drink alone, but every once in a whileI do. I just don’t ever think about having a drink unless its to celebrate with a friend. When I’m depressed I guess I eat, I don’t drink.

When I’m depressed I can’t taste food- but I do sleep a lot.
