Bumblebees
Plant some flowers, and they will come,
and though they have a fuzzy bum,
curb your finger, curb your thumb.
Have another sip of rum.
Crack your knuckles, pop your gum.
Call your sweetie, call your mum.
Bake some brownies and have you some.
Sing a ditty, whistle, hum.
Play tuba ‘til your lips are numb.
Strum your cello, pound your drum.
Sand your chair legs ‘til they’re plumb.
Pat your kitten’s furry tum,
but as these bumblebees go and come,
to pet one would be really dumb!!!!!

Such a cute poem. How many bee pictures there are, but this poem makes it special. 🙂 Thanks for visiting my blog.

I realize my illustration wasn’t a bumblebee. It was a bee that perched itself for some time on my straw at a beachside restaurant in La Manzanilla. Unfortunately, no bumblebee has ever gotten this friendly with me.

Thanks,De.. Fun to try to use just one rhyme, but can make for some pretty ridiculous lines–which I realize is no problem to you!!! ;o)

So glad you enjoyed it, Beverly. There’s something about those prompt words that just want to rhyme!

I think your musician and my bum busker should do a duet. Lots of fun wordplay here and smiling at trying to pet a bee 🙂
