They do look ripe for eating.

In 19 years of growing them, I’ve never eaten one! Obviously, I have in the past and I do in Chiles en nogada and other dishes they are a part of, but I’ve never picked one off my own tree and eaten it.

I’ve been told these wouldn’t be good but guess I should see for myself. I have diverticulitis so shouldn’t eat seeds.

We still have pomegranates on our tree and they are so ornamental against the golden leaves and the brilliant blue sky. Having a lingering Fall with the brilliant yellow along HWY9 still waiting for a big rain.
