      It is a man who has a shop about 1/4 block up from the Ajijic pier. The dog usually sits on the steps that lead down from his shop, and yes, he’s usually wearing the glasses.

    A great collection, Judy. I’m so glad you included the photo of the letter S. I looked for one, but couldn’t find one. I also enjoyed your dog, sip, and spout–among many others.

          Patti, Shel Silverstein wrote lyrics for Glen Yarborough. Do you remember him? Glen later moved down here and lived across the lake from me. He heard some of my poems that friends had set to music and said he would like to record them and also asked me to write for him. We were working on a show for PBS called “From the Lighthouse” when he had an operation to remove nodules from his throat and lost his singing voice. So sad. It was thrilling to meet him, though, as he was my favorite singing artist when I was in college. I’d memorized all his lyrics and still have all his records–and his two last tapes, one of which he sang with his daughter, which he gave to me. So, much as I know I’m not his equal, that’s the second time I’ve been compared to Shel Silverstein…

            Oh, I do remember Glen Yarborough. I had no idea you actually knew him and collaborated with him. I’m sorry that project didn’t come to fruition, due to his poor health. It must have been fabulous to know a great artist. And yes, your poetry is like Shel’s!!
