Bougainvillea: FOTD Mar 17, 2021

Although I posted this photo earlier in a gallery about the possibility that they’ll make me tear down this brick tool shed built by Jose, I love this shot and have to post it here as well.

It makes no sense at all. Some rule says a structure cannot be within so many inches of a wall, but i own the land on either side of the wall! And it is just a storage shed. My neighbor has two casitas attached to the outside wall. Makes no sense at all that I can’t build a tiny garden shed on my own property on a wall I own the property on both sides of. I have a meeting at 10:30. Wish me luck.

Good luck, I hope the outcome favors you. Considering you own both sides of the wall, in the even it or the shed comes down there’s no doubt over who will be responsible for the damages and repairs. I don’t see how a rule intended to protect both landowners applies here

But, the meeting did not go well. I either need to join the two lots which means expense of lawyers and fees or tear down the shed and put it at least twelve feet away from the wall. Ridiculous. I’ve had three asthma attack this morning, just talking to the manager and since, in trying to deal with it. I need to read my poem again.

Photography has a unique path: capture the unexpected, get the missed task, freeze-frame labor-in-motion. Nice image, Judy. Have you looked at this in B&W or in sepia?

Yes. It doesn’t work in either as the bougainvillea disappear and the main focus is the hat. I think the impact is from the vivid color of the bougainvillea in contrast to the rather monochromatic background, offset by the pattern of the hat. I tried your suggestiong, though!
