About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

I had gone through files and found some and then decided that was ridiculous, to just have a little shooting session. I used some of the old images as well. I just love doing the collages–the juxtaposition of images. That’s why I always publish as a gallery and remind that people can enlarge the images if they want a closer look. Easy to do when the prompts stipulates photos from your own house!

A terrific trail of textures and colors. You have a good eye for them. Favorites: the first one, the one with the black cat, and the stone/shell? on the beach.

The black cat is the top of a bottle of Gato Negro Wine–the metal cap over the cork that you have to cut off. They used to hang a little black cat around the neck of the bottle, too. I loved those little cats and have a few of them.

It is once again hummingbird moth caterpillar season here, Derrick.. and this is the mouth of one devouring my Virginia Creeper. They go from being little red worms to large green caterpillars to these huge spotted creatures. The moths lay their eggs in my Virginia Creeper every year and we go hunting for the caterpillars in the foliage over my terrace and relocate them to the lot below as they otherwise cover my terrace floor and table with big black pellets.
