Today was the second day of our family reunion and we were sitting outside in my nephew’s backyard in Des Moines, minding our own business and talking one over the other when suddenly we were outshouted by a tremendous hailstorm with huge stones. Here are my nephews presenting some of the golfball-sized hail. Yes, I did get pelted with a few before running into the house and then grabbing a wash pan to put over my head and go back out to try to find my computer. No it wasn’t outside but safely inside in its case.
Gosh, they are huge! I’m glad your computer is safe and dry, that’s the first thing I worry about these days, the devices more than my glasses and my head. 🙂

OMG ! that may be my fault,,,,,,, I ordered confetti one to help you folks celebrate, but my request must have gotten mixed up with another political one I made, at the same time, for elsewhere, . Boy are they ever going to be surprised~!

That’s some pretty big hail. Hope you guys didn’t get any damage on your roofs or cars 😀

Surprisingly, we didn’t. I ran out initially without anything to protect me and didn’t sustain injury. Luckily it was not falling with incredible force as happened in an earlier post when it completely destroyed our car. This hail must have been falling from less of a distance or perhaps there was less wind. Don’t know why there wasn’t much damage as it was HUGE.

I’m hearing the rat-tat-tat of hail on the wash pan you wore on your head. Glad the computer was safe. I’ve never seen hail that size!

My sister and I were caught in a hailstorm with hail this large once in my dad’s brand new car. It totalled it.
