For this prompt, I’d like to reblog a poem written eight years ago, soon after I started my blog. I actually went back and edited the original, so it is a newer version of itself. HERE is the link

Thank you for re-blogging this poem. What a nightmare those neighbors! I’m glad the plants have taken their rightful spot again and create the wall that you had before!

It isn’t the wall it was before, actually, as it never reattached to the tree, but it does give privacy, except for when the leafcutter ants got to it and stripped it bare a year ago. They can be brutal. The new neighbors missed it as much as I did.

Oh, no — I didn’t realize the leafcutter ants would be that brutal. I’m glad it has leafed out and blossomed again, and hope the ants will stay away!

They won’t. I do war with them every year and hate it as they are so organized and so interesting to watch, but I gotta protect my domain!!!!

They really are fascinating creatures — but there are other places they can find their food and housing besides your ‘wall’!

It’s leafed and flowered out again now, though.

It was sad until I reached the happy ending.

Neighbors being un-neighborly is so sad.

It is indeed, but my neighbors before them were amazing as are the present ones….luckily this was an old poem.
