Forgottenman wants to know why I haven’t published any photos of Zoe for the past 5 days. I’ve been busy preparing and setting up my show but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been taking photos. I just haven’t posted them. Here they are, presented as a set of mysteries:
Mystery #1. What is Diego doing standing out in the cold?
(Click on photos to enlarge and read about today’s mysteries.)
Why isn’t he snug in his cushy mat in his cage?
Seems as though someone has appropriated his cage and bed for herself.
Guess who?
It is soooo comfy. We don’t know where Diego slept last night but he surrendered his digs to her without one complaint.
Mystery # 2: When my friend Brad was over the other night helping me pack up my car with work for my show, we came in to watch a movie and had no place to place our gin and tonics. Does anyone know where my Oaxacan woven coasters are?
The coasters are always left right here in a pile on the coffee table in the sala.
So how did they end up in a pile on the rug in my bedroom?
I’ll zoom in to collect more evidence,
but Zoe arrives and gives herself away. When I replace them, a minute later I catch her making off with all three in her mouth at once, heading off for the bedroom, where she thinks they belong..
Mystery # 3: Both of my printers stopped working because the ink has run out, so I need the last copy of my manuscript, even though it wasn’t a very good copy.
I thought it was in this pile on my desk. Did it slide off the pile and wind up on the floor?
Um. I guess so. By the time I discovered where it was, this is how big the page was, It took quite a tug-of-war to get it away from Zoe, and in the process it would up in about 12 more tiny pieces.
Mystery # 4: Now that Zoe has outgrown her collar that her Aunties Chris and Sherry bought for her and has a new one, what can be done with the old collar that I had to cut off her because the double knot was too strong to untie?
This is Zoe’s last photo in her old collar that is now too tight.
Lost in dreams.
Plenty of room for both Zoe and all her toys in her inside bed next to Mom’s desk.
Here is her new collar, which I found in the same pink as the one her Aunties bought her, because pink seems to be her color.
And as you can see, the minute I cut the old one off her, she found a use for it as her newest toy. That’s it dangling from her mouth.

Zoe’s really taken charge in your house — “Hey, Mom, that was my collar — can’t you smell me on it?”

I’m wearing the nightie I put in her bed and in the purse I carried her in for the first few weeks..It somehow got into the wash and I’ve reclaimed it.

Hah! Another mystery: how did the nightie get into the wash so you could reclaim it?

Zoe probably put it there.

Well — that wasn’t my thought, but it does make a better story!
