Zoe Meets Cousin Kirk

Please click on photos to enlarge.

I was sleeping so well when Mom woke me up at 3 a.m. to put me outside so she could go pick her cousin Kirk up at the airport in Guad. She put me outside in my “safe” zone and finally got home around 5 or 6 a.m. She introduced us and of course he became “mine” immediately. He tastes pretty good! She fed him (but not me.) She and Kirk were still pretty peppy even after 24 hours with no sleep, but not as peppy as I was. The first ten minutes Kirk was here, I made off with one of his heavy sneakers and made it to Mom’s room with it in record time. Here I am resting easily with Ollie at 11 this morning. I’m still sleeping at 1:30. I think Mom got two hours sleep if she was lucky. She’s lying in bed writing this post, but chances are she’ll be having a catnap in the hammock later today.

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

He’d agree to that. He’s charmed in spite of Zoe’s present pesky phase. Wish I had a video of Diego dealing with her today. He is just amazing in trying to train her to tame down a bit. She just hounds him constantly and he plays with her, but then puts his paw across her body to tame her down, turns her over, gently disciplines her. How he knows how to do this, I do not know as he’s never been with a puppy before. Morrie was grown when I got him. A bit frisky but didn’t relate to people or other animals in a frisky manner—just to toilet paper and books and furniture and dog and cat beds… ha.

She is. Overly friendly at times, I fear. Just found Kirk’s wet bathing suit in my bedroom, one of my best shoes in the garden and one of Kirk’s shoes in my bathroom. She loves to arrange things in the manner she thinks is right.
