Colloquy

Colloquy

If you want to float my boat, when you speak your piece,
know when you have made your point and preserve the peace
by resisting going on once you’ve reached your peak.
It’s always best to stop and give others time to speak.

It’s often a consensus that brings matters to right.
Like oil on fire, those who know it all only ignite
conflagrations that make bringing matters to a close
impossible as they attempt their theories to impose.

As tempers flare and anger mounts and epithets are hurled,
as in a drive-by shooting, rank chaos is unfurled.
Pure reason makes its calm retreat, waiting for the day
when each one speaks and then allows others to have their say.

For The Sunday Whirl Wordle 585  the prompt words are: boat preserve speak resist oil fire drive fly shoot matter close right.

If I were to be mum
the results for me would be dumb
because you always want have the last word
and to think that you would listen is most absurd~!

So why should I even try
when you even make me cry
and in the end I know I will not win.
So I will just be mum in reply and then.

You will just sit there and burn, you son of a gun.

Good night Ms Judy Brown, much fun,
sleep tight the year has just begun.
from one you may think is only a turd,
but it is always fun to get in the last word~!

WHO ME~? SWEET INNOCENT LITTLE ME~? WHAT GAVE YOU THAT IDEA~?
Well I must be in one of my moods today, or maybe even this year~!
So sit tight and don’t pay much attention to me, I am just having a good time~!
Your Colloquy just required my Soliloquy and you do have the disadvantage because you follow rules and “requirements”, while mine just flow like poop out of a sick addled brain~!

Not really, I long ago learned to keep my hands to myself, and Tami is the only one still worried about me~! But memories are still fun~!

The term “conversational narcissist” was coined by sociologist Charles Derber who describes the trait of consistently turning a conversation back to yourself. A balanced conversation involves both sides, but conversational narcissists tend to keep the focus on themselves.

I copied it for 4 granddaughters and left out the drive by line!!! Thanks!!! The 15 year old dreads babysitting the youngers:”they never listen to me!” I’ll get the book for babysitters called: “Don’t sit on the baby!”
