Ending: Feb 12, 2023

You offer reassurances and try to take my hand
as we journey homeward, shuffling through the sand.
Your words imply condolence, but they are not sincere.
Your thoughts I know are far away, although you hover near.

I consign our love to memory, safe and tightly curled,
for I know your next love waits for you out there in the world.
I no longer seek your favor and would rather you depart.

I do not crave your presence when I do not have your heart.

Prompt words today are: sand, shuffle, condolences, imply, favor.

Thanks, Martha. I’m in a hammock out in my back yard trying to ward off sleep and listening to the laughter and chatter of a family party downhill from me, my “empty” lot separating us. Such a cheerful sound.

I once ended a live-in relationship by taking him out to lunch and giving him a poem I’d written. He said, “Wow, this is truth brutally told” and moved out the same day. Poetry can have a strong influence, used correctly. (And brutally?)

Oh Judy my body has backed up on me over the past few days~! Thank God Ginny is here to look after me like I was a Kid. It is not serious, just cant keep food down or eat, which makes me cranky..(Poor Ginny~!) I finally got that damn Spa in and going, but now can not really figure out all the button combinations, but it is nice to have.

Then today we went to get a new vacuum and when I got home, I realized it was a “rug cleaner”; which I already have two of. So tomorrow back to Best Buy to return it…I fell for a message on the box that it was special for “pet hair”~! Stupid me~!

When I am feeling bad it becomes so difficult to think about simple things, but thanks to Ginny, Tami, Eppie, and Coco they keep yelling at me about how dumb I am acting. Except TAMI who seems to love me, no matter how mean I can get.

PS: Ginny told me that was not the right one to get, and I told her to mind her own business~!

I have not mentioned that ice storm has made my place look like a terrible tornado passed through… Many trees and branched down… Maybe that is why I am not feeling well~! It will take months just to clean up the mess~!

So sad to hear that things seem to be going wrong at your house enmasse. Next time listen to Ginny. You owe her one!!! I still have house guests, an art show to take my work to tomorrow, car repairs to see too, insurance claims to wrestle, a meeting with some people helping me get my next books out.. everything occurring at once, as usual, I guess. Hope you soon feel well and that you don’t take your frustrations out on Ginny. She is minding your business..thank goodness. J
