I have seen this plant but can’t remember what it is. It is similar to Devil’s Backbone, which is sometimes called a Slipper Plant due to the red flowers that look like slippers….I will see if I can find an example.
Oh what a week, three of the five days will be spent in doctors offices with one follow up on Monday, and I missed your post yesterday to give me the boost I needed. Still 115 degree, hot days with no relief in view, SEND RAIN~!
Everything is dying. I finally got my little “Zip-Zip” mower working yesterday with a new idler pulley in all that heat, but then 20 feet from my shop it stopped again with a broken fuel pump hose. When it is this hot things made out of rubber seem to break. A new pump will arrive today and I MUST get all of those dried flower buds cut in time to re-seed all that was lost. Like your winter oats in the Dakotas, they must be “started” in the fall.
In the meantime each evening I must spend an hour pulling the sticky seeds out of Tami’s hair. I think she goes out and rolls in the burrs because she likes the attention she gets from me, brushing, clipping, and hugging, before I will let her on my bed.
I think that she may have eaten one of my (hearing aid ear-molds) last night, as it has disappeared. I accidentally went to sleep with it in my ear, and awoke with it missing, the rest of the unit is OK though~! Not the first time this has happened, and one dog ate the whole thing~!
Yes my friend’s dog ate her housesitter’s very expensive hearing aid. Zoe ate both of my pairs of prescription glasses–Twelve hundred dollars worth! They like things that have been closest to us.
The one lost was an old one that I put in at night while I watch the news, in case I fall asleep. Actually, she did not eat it, I found it on the guest bathroom floor, she must have taken it in there and then changed her mind. I did have one chewed up by a previous dog. They squeal real loud when taken away from their mate and that is how I found it, and maybe why she abandoned it.
The test I went to review today came out well, telling me that I was negative for a spread of the cancer. Two more tests to go to find out why it started to grow.
Crossed fingers…Camp went well today but I’m exhausted..On vacation until Monday so I’m meeting long distance with the guy formatting my China Bulldog book. No rest for the wicked.
I hope it’s busy in a good way. Lovely picture
