Autumn Colors
There is little in nature—both in life and death-—that does not contain beauty. Trees in autumn are a perfect example.
They reach out their hands
to collect dying colors
to adorn curled palms.

I love the season but to Garry it heralds on the oncoming of winter — which he doesn’t like one bit.

Short and sweet, Judy. Now that you mention it, those leaf clusters do look like hands reaching out to gather color.

Beautiful thoughts, and photos Judy. Fall has not really arrived here yet except the fall flowers like Maximilian sunflowers which are blooming profusely, I thought we would miss such things after such a terrible summer, but it seems that nature knows what to do and I am even seeing flowers that should have bloomed earlier now that we are getting a little moisture. And I am now getting photos from up in your homeland which show that nature knows it is time to bless us once again.
Thanks Judy, I was thinking about you this morning~!

Gosh the colours of autumn where you are…just beautiful. We don’t get to experience that in Queensland. Beautiful haibun. 🙂

Nope.. those were all done in Wyoming several years ago. We don’t get autumn colors here.. just brilliant florals all year long. The leaves stay green all year or just fall off on the plumeria.

Short, sweet and poignant, Judy, especially the trees reaching out their hands ‘to collect dying colors’ – and I love your colourful photos.

I think every season has its beauty, it is just the knowledge of what to come that is a bit overwhelming sometimes.

When it comes to winter, yes. Or fire season, flood season, landslide season. The Earth changes and changes.

That is very true. And when they go slimy brown and rotten, it isn’t long before green shoots grow through the cover.
