Dreamscape

Unravel realms of slumber and try to bring on home
A beacon cast by memory. That fresh-turned scent of loam.
The dazzling icy glitter of icicles that drip
with hypnotic regularity as warm air takes its sip.
Memories of a lifetime, bittersweet at best,
yearning over losses and missing childhood’s zest.
We move our eyes in slumber over a different view
on the screen of nostalgia, which we seek to imbue
with not only reality but also with our hope
that we can remember with a wider scope
creating a new story, satisfyingly surreal
where a lifetime of memories can gather and congeal
to form another story in which we hope to  heal.

    Loved it including the photos, once again you and I were living in nostalgia this morning. Mine started at about 2:00 am and I had to get up and sit in my chair. But I did manage a poem, though not really nice. I also made a post reply to Sadje’s Sunday challenge where I tried to mix more positive with the negative.

    Now I am trying to finish something about, of all things, a poem by Raymond Chandler~! You did not misread that, it was found in a shoe box of papers given to the library and is called “REQUIEM”. Unfortunately, it has been purchased from his family and now people will be required to pay to read it. It is such a beautiful tribute to his wife when she died that I think it should be made open to the public, but so many Journals have no feelings when money is to be made. I am going to try to post at least a part of it that is public because it says things that I would say even if they end up in a shoe-box.

    I am really lonely today, sort of feeling sorry for myself. So bad that I accidentally brought up your name and sat there reading old emails from you.

      Sorry you are feeling down today. Kristina would really like you to come down for 3 months or so. Would you consider it if someone came up and drove you down in your car so you’d have a car down here? The man who has driven me around when needed for at least 15 years has done this a number of times. His last trip was to drive people back to Florida. I could get an estimate of what it would cost. Kristina worries about your chances of catching Covid if you flew..There are lots of ways to get to know people down here, including the Lake Chapala Society, which has a huge grounds and things going on all the time. Lots of writing groups and places to walk. And you could fill Kristina in on your family history, which she will be an avid audience for.

        Wow~! you and Kristina have my life all figured out, now if you could come up with a teleportage all would be well. It is not the drive that I can not do. I am told it is now dangerous otherwise, especially near the border. By air will work OK but I must come up with several days that I am not having some type of health appointment. My real desire is to go down for several days (with Tami if possible) and have someone to fly with me to occupy the full seat and entertain both Tami and me on the flight. Ha, not asking for much. I can’t tell all here. There was a time when I would jump in my car and take off, but that is not as possible as it once was.
        I think that conversation Spanish would come back within a few days and if they speak slowly I can still understand, however I have problems understanding English if they speak too fast. Oh getting old is no fun anymore~! Had I done this ten years ago I would probably be living down there right now, except I was thinking more about Costa Rica back then.
