A fabulous gallery of greens! Those Mexican houses always pop with color–love that yellow one! The first one with the little skaters on the plant is cute!
I’ll post photos.. When Trump “gifted” us with “his” checks in 2020, I swore I’d spend all the money hiring Mexican artist friends to paint murals on my house as they were all pretty much out of work. No commissions, no shows…So Jesus and his son worked for a couple of months painting the designs I’d found all the way around my house and studio and repainted the one on my garage. I’ll find a link.
Terri, I had a hard time finding a photo of the paintings on the studio, but you can see a partial view in the third link below. The other two show the painting he did on garage and the house.
They were little figures made for a model railroad display. I always used to buy these different little creatures whenever I saw them. They used to have whole stores devoted to selling model trains and tracks and things to complete their displays. I loved those stores and later bought many of these figures online. I have one that looks exactly like my father. I used them in my retablos…mixed media sculptures.
How neat that you found one that looks like your father. In our science center in Pittsburgh, there’s a model train display of the city with loads of those little figures. Fascinating to look at.

Wow, that is so cool, and now not so surprising! You must get a ton of inspiration there!

It now has murals all the way around the top–aztec symbols. This must be a pre-2020 photo.

Thanks, Kristin . I love photographing insects. They are so overlooked and have such a remarkable diversity.
