A Sci-Fi Poem for the diVerse Poets Pub

The Prayer of the First Astronaut Poet

There is no Wifi in space
and so I send my words
out into the Universe
hoping that each syllable
will emit a ray
somehow connected
to all my other syllables,
and if quantum entanglement
is right, they will one day
find each other
again.

For the diverse Poets Pub the prompt is to write a Sci-Fi Poem

I love your prayer of the first astronaut poet, and I imagine that, one day, we will have an astronaut poet laureate. I especially love these lines:

    ‘hoping that each syllable
    will emit a ray
    somehow connected
    to all my other syllables’.

But it didn’t make it to the moon this time, did it? Didn’t they just go into high orbit around the Earth? Will they send it up in another? It is so exciting and I give you full credit for arranging it, Björn. It is thrilling to think at least our words will be on the moon.
