I’m in! The timing is good because of the budget vote this week. The only language that the Good Ole Perverts understand is US$, spoken really slowly and enunciated clearly.

Absolutely and the men who are running him are even more influenced by it. Definitely not the year to buy a Tesla.

Missed this before. Thanks, Vi. Friends of mine have gone back to brick and mortar shopping and stopped supporting Amazon.

As an Alaskan, I would really like to see Canada step up their game when it comes to large scale shipping to us and the lower 48. If they would do that, we Alaskans wouldn’t be so dependent on Amazon.

Who is the work strike against?

It means, don’t go to work.

How is not buying anything for one day going to affect anything? I’d think we’d need to hold out a lot longer than that.

THIS IS just to show what can be done..If they don’t get the message, more will be called for.

I think it should automatically be at least a week. That makes sense to me. A day just doesn’t. I understand the idea of solidarity. It’s not enough!

Here in Canada, thousands of Canadians are checking labels and are not buying American products. Grocery stores are starting to stock more Canadian products. Some items are difficult. We’ve discovered oranges from Spain and Egypt, cookies from Sri Lanka and a whole bunch of fresh produce that comes from Canadian greenhouses, including strawberries and lettuce. This has been going on ever since Trump threatened us with tariffs a month ago. I love Marshalls and Michaels but I won’t be going there on Friday and I’m not buying from Amazon. I will try to hold off for weeks and months if it helps. Many of my friends have already cancelled vacations to the US and will be travelling across Canada instead or going to Europe. Every time Trump or his staff refers to Canada as the 51st state, Canadians buckle down even more.

The time is right for Canadian Entrepreneurs to start shipping to the USA. I’m in Alaska and I would definitely buy nonperishable items from Canada. And I cannot be alone.

Sadly if the tariffs go through, any products shipped to Alaska will cost you more.

They already raised the per pallet tax from .50- 7.00 in January and that’s just barge loads from Seattle. I can’t even imagine what they are gonna tack on when the tariffs come through.

Canadian friends say they are switching to all non-U.S. products in their purchasing, even when they have to go to great lengths to do so.

We are closer to Canada than the US, I wish they sold Canadian products in Alaska.

Trump is so angry right now that I’m afraid he’s not going to change his mind on tariffs and if we retaliate he’ll make it worse.

Please note that small local businesses in Mexico should not be included in this boycott, although Walmart and Costco in Mexico are owned by American Corporations and so should be. It is important that we pass the message on!!!

I cancelled my prime account, my amazon credit card, and have not purchased anything from them since Bezos announced the Post wouldn’t be supporting any candidate. It’s easier than you think.
