Night for Day
Night holds me like a basket, shaping answers to my dreams
as all the truths my days have taught leak out of me in streams.
One reality of heart chanting truths that stay,
while truths of badges, guns and sirens slowly pulse away.
Our startled world thus vanishes and for some hours dies
as sleep sweeps over us and soothes day’s agonies with sighs.
For The Sunday Whirl Wordle, the word prompts are: siren chanting pulse sighs night basket answers heart shape badge stay

You’re so adorable. Love the poem too

Thank goodness my older sister got a camera for her birthday or I’d have no idea what I looked like as a little girl. Cameras were just not a “thing” back then…except for my 11 year older sis! And she had a fine eye for a pose.

I love how you describe how sleep strips away our armour, returning us to our most honest selves – beautifully done and such a lovely picture 💖
