Finally, we had rain––of course on the first day my friends arrived for a two-day visit. At any rate, at least in addition to getting pretty wet, I got these shots

Let There Be Light! For CFFC

Okay, I couldn’t resist. My husband Bob Brown and I used to make lamps so they seem to be naturals to show for this prompt. To see more of our lamps, go HERE.

This is the only one that I still have. Bob did the wood and stone. I made the paper and formed the spiral shade.

We have one of these trees at the end of our block which finally allowed me to capture it in all of its phases.  When the flowers fall off, this very large pod develops.Called a fruit, it is not edible but actually eventually falls off to reveal the large white fiber ball which is
kapok, used to stuff pillows and cold-weather clothing as well as life preservers.

Windblown, For FOTD Nov 27, 2023

Lucky me, to capture these windblown leaves before they flew over the wall?  Actually, they are caught in a spiderweb.  Sorry for the deception. The photodevil made me do it.

There is nothing like an empty space to attract our attention to what it surrounds or leads up to, but sometimes empty spaces themselves are filled with reflections of what surrounds them.

If I Were Marooned on An Island with Only Three Foods?

If I were marooned on an island with only three foods, what three foods would I choose?

Potatoes, Whole Milk, Oil.

What I could make from these three ingredients? Baked potatoes with butter and sour cream, French fries (alas, no ketchup), mashed potatoes with milk and butter, potato chips, scalloped potatoes, fried potatoes, VODKA!!!!!

What I’d miss most:  Salt (but I figure I could obtain it from seawater), green vegetables, (Surely there are some edible greens on the island? More likely than wild potatoes.) As for meat, there must be some game on the island and fish in the ocean or lake around it.

The Prompt for My Vivid Blog is Potatoes. Can’t resist that one!
