I keep forgetting about these white bougainvillea that spill over my wall at the lower end of the garden. Love their contrast with the more colorful varieties.

Can you see the woodpecker high up in the palm tree above these bougainvillea branches? And, can you see the “bird” in the second shot as well? I think the fallen palm sheath suspended in the snarl of branches looks like an exotic long-tailed bird perched on a limb of the bougainvillea as well.

I always forget about this challenge until someone else publishes their last photo of the month and so many times have a rather unremarkable photo. This month, Mother Nature helped me out. This was the sunset on February 28. You’ve seen this scene before, but I liked the addition of the bougainvillea poking out into the sunset.
Cats always choose the exact right place to pose themselves. This is Ollie photobombing the bougainvillea. Why is it odd? First of all, because it is rare to see him without his sister, Kukla, and secondly because this is the first time he has been the one to greet me up on the wall when I return home. Usually it is Kukla. Or is it because that’s an odd number of leaves on the bougainvillea bush? Check and see.
