After 2½ months, the murals that Jesus Lopez Vega and son Eduardo have been painting on the outside of my house and studio are finally finished. Forgottenman asked to see the total results, so I’m sharing them with you as well. When Bob and I bought our house in 2001, the first thing we did was to go out and buy one of Jesus’ paintings in a local gallery. Here is that and other paintings I’ve bought from him over the years and other mural work he’s done in my house:

The inside of my street entrance door, with pedestals that once held two large Precolumbian replicas of a man and a woman that Bob went out and bought in an antique store while I was waiting to sign the papers to buy the house. Both since tipped over by the kittens now turned cats–and turned into flower pots. ( The remaining parts of the sculptures, not the cats!)

A Huichol motif

This is actually the etching plate of one of Jesus’ limited editions that I bought and asked him to paint as though it was one of the etchings.
