“Scavenger Hunt” for Can You Tell A Story in 40 Words

Image with help of AI

For “Can You Tell A Story In . . .” the words are: BONSAI PUDDLE KNAPSACK REJOICE and the word limit is 40 words.

Scavenger

Rejoicing, I jumped over the puddle with the purloined bonsai in my knapsack and hurtled down the street, back to the party. Would I be the first one back with the entire contents of the scavenger hunt in my possession?

Aimless

I couldn’t help reblogging this poem which uses a bird as the metaphor for the creative process. Yes, it has a simile in it, but the entire poem itself my mind becomes a wild bird.

For Muriopsis’s Scavenger Hunt “Looking at Names” prompt number 12, to use a bird as a metaphor.

Here’s a smaller version so you can see the shape on a smaller device.  I’ve been working on this shape for seven hours.  Sheesh! how time flies.  I have versions of four different birds, but I think I like the duck best.

In case you are curious, here is another version of “Aimless.”  Same poem, different bird–a plumed exotic with its wings extended.

Cautionary Tale

Cautionary Tale

Before a flower you chance to pick,
pick a flower without  bees.
Bees sting painfully and so quick.
So, quick, you need to get the wound
wound tightly to dispel the pain.
Pain  you’d never have felt if only,
only you had looked before.

So Long, Marianne! (Tribute to Leonard Cohen)

         So Long, Marianne!

Mmmmm, he said, I think I need
Another kiss and then, indeed,
Require a hug to go with it.
I like the way that our lips fit.
And if you choose to give me none,
Neither will I give you one!
No love is won by those found lacking
Expertise in hugs and smacking.

Murisopsis’s Scavenger Hunt Prompt at Looking at Names is to write an acrostic poem for Marianne.

The Answer (For Name Scavenger Hunt)

                                                 The Answer

Another night, another day
Meanders in, then fades away
And still you do not come or call.
No news from you at all, at all.
Do you realize my heart is waiting
As your heart keeps on debating?

For Looking At Names prompt, we were to write an Acrostic poem using the name Amanda
