Ice cream is my weakness—my favorite sort of sweet.
A flavor that I don’t adore is one I’ve yet to meet.
Mandarin orange or licorice, tequila or dill pickle?
I am not true to any of them, for I fear I’m fickle.
When choosing ice cream flavors, it’s impossible to pick.
I simply am incapable of choosing which to lick.
And so I’d like a flavor that has a bit of each:
chocolate and vanilla and a little touch of peach,
strawberry and mango and lime and toffee crunch—
why choose just one flavor when you can have a bunch?
Throw some tangerine in and some pineapple sorbet.
Licorice and banana? Who am I to say nay?
This flavor would be popular with those who cannot choose
whether they prefer the flavor of pickles, fruit or booze.
Though some of you may scoff at it and laugh in your derision,
the name of my new flavor? I call it “Indecision.”
The Prompt: Flavor # 32—A local ice cream parlor invites you to create a new wacky flavor. It needs to channel the very essence of your personality. What’s in it?
So clever. I’ll have a bowl of that Indecisiion flavor also, except I’d need a dose of Lactaid thrown in.

You know that is what Lactaid was invented for, don’t you?

Brilliantly tells the impossible task of deciding which flavor to eat. I was in from beginning to end. Now I shall grab myself a bowl of this indecision. Nice work!

They seem to have multiple daily prompts about ice cream! What’s that say about the editors?
Thanks for visiting my response to yesterday’s prompt, and for giving me a grin with this poem. I love that your grief blog turned into celebrating life. Mine has been taking me on a similar journey, or rather I’ve been taking it on the journey. Peace-
Melanie

This is great too …. like the name “Lick for Lick”! I’m a vanilla girl – the best vanilla ice cream does Mövenpick do and 2nd place Mado in Istanbul.

I just realized that you are the woman with that incredible photo…Where the curly chip looks like your tongue. That’s the best profile pic I’ve seen. Intriguing. OK I’ll leave you alone now to eat your ice cream. Um, what flavor? Vanilla? The Jocotepec ice cream I talked about in the first poem makes the best vanilla ice cream I’ve ever tasted. So creamy it tastes like frozen flan and very icy…
