In China the white ones (and all I saw were white ones) are called Ji Dan Hua — chicken egg flower. 🙂 It’s the most beautiful fragrance in the world.

Very beautiful. I have seen these flowers many times when in North India mostly. I love those tiny, long, thick coloured buds when they are about to blossom.

Since I have been a flower girl, I have never seen a Frangipani. I’ve never lived in an area topical enough. Gorgeous. 😀

They use them to make leis in Hawaii. First time I knew the name was in Darwin, Australia, where I saw a number of them while waiting for a plane for Timor–a time in my life when I first experienced the exotic in flowering trees! I’d been living in New South Wales where there was a long line of Jacaranda trees extending down my street, rhododendrons and other unbelievable bushes and trees–oleander, etc. Then, later in CA, all the same types of flowering wealth–including bougainvillea and dogwoods further north. Having grown up and lived in cold places my entire former life in the states, I could get over all this wealth of flowering. Still can’t. That’s why I’m addicted to your flower of the day!!! My excuse not to stop noticing.
