Isolated !!!
Mom, we’re bored! We need something to play with!!! Can you toss us the little green space man?
Okay, Got it. Thanks, Mom!!!
Oops! Looks like we’re sharing!!!
Okay, Morrie, my turn!!! Morrie? Stop hogging the green man!
Okay. Time for older brother to show you some manners!
Mom: Guys, stop. It’s getting a little too rough. Diego, stop!!!
That’s enough you guys. Morrie, you’re on time out. “But Mom . . .” (Whines a bit. Looks longingly at Diego–and freedom beyond the bars.)
Okay, Morrie. Here’s a toy for you to play with. Your favorite.
You can’t resist tempting Diego with your toy? If you put it so close to the bars, you know what’s going to happen. Right?
Morrie, are you trying to taunt Diego or tempt him or both?
Diego falls for the bait.
And, as you might have guessed, Morrie snatches it back just as Diego is about to maneuver it through the bar. Bad, Morrie, teasing your brother. Now you’ve earned your isolation!!!! (But what does he care? He has “the” toy–all the more precious since his brother wants it, too!)

Great story to go with your photos, Judy. I trust both were happy after being isolated from each other?
Thank you for participating in my photo challenge this week.

No, they like tussling and rolling and growling and pretending like they are going for the jugular. They are boys! Frida is glad to be out of it and have a little peace as Diego hounded her mercilessly before Morrie joined the family.

It’s stuff like this that makes us want not one dog, but a pack. Because they are so interesting, so funny, so often mirroring the best and worst of humanity. And it’s in the pack that you really get the true doggish personality. They are different with each other than with us, aren’t they?

They are probably with each other how they’d like to be with us, but we just don’t fit in. Plus, we are too bossy.

Cut them a little slack Judy, after all they are you baby dogs, they need lots of TLC, might hold the chicken soup with your new floors.

Now that is an interesting turn of phrase, Leland. What does “hold the chicken soup” mean?

If you feed them the chicken soup hold the dish for them, or your new tile will be a mess, what the heck eat the soup yourself.

Ha. Their diet is pretty much limited to kibble, canned dog food and doggie treats. Too many digestive problems otherwise…at least for the older and younger dogs. Frida has the digestive track of steel.

Aha…are you referring to the time I caught Diego running out the door with an entire roasted chicken in his mouth????

Yes… I remember… the very best toy was the one your sister wanted to play with…. Other than that, I was a pretty good brother?
