Dusty Petals
There are not an excessive number of flowers in La Manzanilla, but I found these little blooms down the street in a strip of soil near the curb, well-dusted by traffic on the sandy pavers. If anyone knows what they are, please let me know.

Thanks so much, Jamie. I checked out the sites mentioned but never figured out how to get a flower submitted. I need to take more time later since it would be a wonderful resource for me when folks like Pekebun and Al aren’t around to tell me what flowers I have found. I am going to try to figure out how to use these sites!!!

Thanks Judy. I’ve used the one out of UBC a few times. For IDing my stuff. …. J.

Try this. They kind of walk you through it and I think you can submit a picture, too. I’d fill it out, but I can’t see the leaf structure, or tell how big it is.

Marilyn, Pekebun has told me the name of the f lower, but I’ll try it with a different one.

Okay, Marilyn. I did the entire process, then couldn’t figure out what to do with the “where” and “when” boxes at the end of the submission process and so had to give up. It wouldn’t let me submit without them. I’m hopeless. LIttle stuff like this throws me.

At 1st glance, they look like Ixora. As a child I used to pluck each flower and suck on the blooms’ stems … they’re sweet, loaded with nectar.

Pekebun, Thank you thank you thank you!!! I am sure you are right. I looked at a dozen pictures of Ixora at different stages and they look exactly like my photos. I love it when other people are smarter than I am! Saves me so much work..Very generous of you to comment.

Thank you & you’re welcome dearie. Hehehe, I’m not smarter, just trying to catch up with the flower power since I was born a little too late for that & in the “wrong” part of the globe too. 😆

Duh. I don’t even know what you mean by the “lower power.” Can you help me out again?

Urgh! weak fingers… sorry, it was meant to me Flower Power. You know, hippie days… I wish that would come back.

Ha! It sounded like something much more sinister than a mere f lower child…But I know why you misstyped it. For some reason on my blog, whenever you follow an “f” with an “i” or an “l,” it omits the f. How can this be?????

I think we used to do that with honeysuckle, which makes sense, given the name.
