This is the second flower brought to me by the hummingbird lady. I can’t get over the pattern on the front part of the flower and I’m wondering if it was caused by being wrapped around the pistil. The other part of the flower doesn’t seem to have the pattern on it, so perhaps it was wrapped around it on the outside. I’ve never noticed this in any other flower before and it makes it look artificial, but it isn’t

I think probably that’s true because I’ve never seen a calla lilly with that pattern. I looked like that when I wore patchwork jeans 🙂

How beautiful. We have Calla Lillies and i haven’t seen that pattern either. I will have to make a point of looking at them closer now.

So beautiful to look that closely at a flower, for any reason!!!! As I sat on my (finally) sunny lawn today with my granddaughter, I was amazed at the details that we saw in the tiny violets out there.

It’s like seeing flower within flower within flower to look closer and closer.

I just couldn’t figure it out until I noticed that it was the pattern in the pistil–reversed. That must be the answer.
