The spare room just grew up. Got rid of the twin beds in favor of a “matrimonial” bed (Mexican for double bed.) Haven’t done a spread yet.. this is makeshift, but looks more grown up, I think.
I know the living room looked warmer before, but the salitre was eating it alive. The new floor looks like natural stone and is impervious to the salitre.

It looks great!!!

Thanks, Janet. Still a bit of a mess as my carpenter just stopped tonight to take my computer desk, which was broken, so all of the drawers are unloaded with the contents sitting around in boxes, dining room table still covered with retablos to be hung, part of the bedroom you don’t see filled with cleaning supplies, but it is getting there.

Judy, I always loved your old tiles, but but the new floor is beautiful. Lightens up the rooms and makes them look more spacious. One of the upsides of light flooring is you can spot a scorpion at fifty paces!

Allenda – Ha! The scorpion-spotting advantage had not occurred to me! (But beware any albino devils.)

And a cucaracha..I’ve spied a few, all with their little legs pointing up.

I like it, too. Is the new shower done yet?

Nope. They took two days off but starting in again tomorrow.

Just gorgeous; Your photograph makes me feel like I am visiting you in your lovely home. What is salitre?

It is salt peter that works its way out of the concrete in the walls and eats away at tile like acid. They use a different ratio of lime to sand and concrete here and the lime eventually surfaces..A real problem in Mexico, yet they never change.

Looking great, kinda warm and friendly atmosphere, sorta reflects its homeowner, huh?

That makes sense why you changed the title floor. Your guest room looks nice. Actually both your rooms look beautiful.

A new whole new look, lighter and brighter.

It looks brighter, lighter too, which is nice. A little less intense and with all the other color you have in your home, neutral floors are probably a better backdrop. Just hope you don’t have to ever do this again! LOTTA work. LOTTA.

Looks beautiful, Judy. Hope I get to see it in person one of these days, but seems like the timing never works out, since you’re usually at the coast when we are in Mexico.

I know.. Bad timing. I’d love to see you.

All beautiful but I love your bedroom the most! First I’ll be careful to gently remove the kitten, and then I’d bounce. 😀 Then grab a book and read, saying: Bye! See you soon!

Ooooh, even better, was just thinking how to relocate you without you noticing. 😉

Ha. I may sleep there tonight as they’ve been working on bathroom in my room and the smell of wet concrete and the residual dust may make sleeping hard. I’m already having convulsive coughing fits every hour or so… don’t need it bolstered.

Ahh, not so good. But wishing you a good sleep.
