The Couch Potato’s Creed
Though he who hesitates is lost,
impetuosity has its cost.
You should look before you leap,
because still waters might run deep.
Though early birds might get the worm,
rash actions trip up the infirm.
So all-in-all I think it’s better
if you aren’t a go-getter.
I guess the moral to this tale
is lest you lose or lest you flail,
you’re up against the proverbial wall.
It’s best you do nothing at all!
I’ve discovered an interesting fact about Morrie. He frequently sleeps with his eyes wide open! In the above photo, he’s on the sofa, but I snapped the below photos one morning when he had usurped my bed as well:

The boy knows how to make himself comfortable.
The prompt today was “hesitate.”
This was cute, and so is Morrie.

Yes…much as that shouldn’t matter, he’s pretty irresistible.

Ha.. My permission to do nothing, but I don’t follow it, I fear.

But isn’t that what the poem is about? 😉 it’s okay. We dont have to be perfect all the time ☺️

It is what the poem is about..Just meant in fun as Morrie is only a couch potato half of the time. He has more energy at play than any creature I’ve ever seen. He would chase a ball until he fell dead from exhaustion. He just furnished such a good illustration for the tongue-in-cheek poem. Sort of “Darned if we do and darned if we don’t!”

Lol! That makes for one adorable pet indeed. It’s great that you have each other. Pets are so much fun. Have. A great day 😊

I have several cats like that. Amazing what contortions they get into when they’re asleep.

I’ve never had a dog who got into quite the positions that Morrie does, though.

And Morrie has “doing nothing” down to a tee. Perfection. Not unlike his New England cousins 😀

And not like his mom. I should learn from him.
