These look delicious! Are they edible?

These are just the beginning of the fruit. The seeds get bigger and are a gold color when they actually turn into fruit. They are very large seeds covered with a thin membrane of fruit. They taste like dense, sticky marmalade. Good but too little flesh to bite into. You can suck it off, but too much effort for too little gain.. and they fall and make a horrible mess. The dogs like them.
