Far be it from me to break the law by taking Little Duck out the the car in this Tennessee rest stop without a leash. He was indignant, but what’s a mother to do? Big Duck chose to stay in the car.

You mean … no harness restraint? Poor little duck will go flying in an accident! Horrors!

A duck on a leash is worth two in the pond.

Mary, Judy went further and put another leash around my neck and tied it to the steering wheel with a stern “Stay!” while she went inside. Are 2 ducks on a leash worth 4 in the pond?

Maybe more. There are already too many ducks in the pond…or is that “fish in the sea?” I get my fish and duck stories mixed up.

Ha. Don’t know why I didn’t use it sooner. I had odd balls in mind when I took it.

Oh! This one’s hilarious. You got the makings of a good set of picture books with Little Duck I think.

That’s a good idea.. if only I could get the books I’ve already finished in print. I’m terrible at that. I need an assistant who loves taking care of the final step!

I gave up trying to get mine into print so I know how tough that is. I neither have the money, the trust or the motivation to publish my novels anymore. I’ve taken them all off the computer and tossed them on a memory stick in a draw never to be seen or read again.
