I didn’t think that in my life time, I might situation like happened in Germany. But, as the Senate refuses to allow evidence and to subpoena witnesses to have a real trial, I am so discouraged. McConnell’s wife is in President Trump’s Cabinet, so he should have recused himself. It is frightening that to stay in power, the body tasked with checks and balances over the executive branch refuses to do so. Will our democracy survive? The sad thing is I am not sure it will and what will replace it is horrifying to think about.
