Reblog: One Word? Absurd!

Good afternoon, LifeLessons readers, OkcForgottenMan here again. Judy is in the fourth day of her writers retreat in Colima, and I’m still here reblogging some of her older poems. It’s a fun gig for me as I stroll back through her blog archive, wondering which to select. I’ve done this before, and I’m looking at her posts from 2016 this go-around.

My first selection today (Yes – I’ll reblog a couple more this afternoon/evening) is “One Word? Absurd!“. It amuses me how it takes some people awhile to adjust to new circumstances. In early March, 2016, when Judy first posted this poetic rant, the folks that posted the Daily WordPress Prompts had just switched from full-sentence (sometimes full-paragraph) prompts to one-word prompts. Judy, as you might discern from the subtle subtext of this poem, was not entirely happy. I hope y’all enjoy!

Silk Floss Trees

Reblog: The Secret Life of Gardeners

Good evening, LifeLessons readers, OkcForgottenMan here again. Judy continues her writers retreat in Colima, and I’m still here reblogging some of her older poems. It’s a fun gig for me as I stroll back through her blog archive, wondering which to select. I’ve done this twice before, and I’m looking at her posts from 2016 this go-around.

I just love this poem “The Secret Life of Gardeners” that Judy posted in March, 2016. I feel it always deserves a reblog. I hope y’all feel it as well. Please enjoy.

Reblog: Kicking the Bucket

Good morning (for a change), LifeLessons readers, OkcForgottenMan here again. Judy is in her third day at a writers retreat in Colima, and I’m still here reblogging some of her older poems. It’s a fun gig for me as I stroll back through her blog archive, wondering which to select. I’ve done this twice before, and I’m looking at her posts from 2016 this go-around.

My first selection today (Yes – I’ll reblog another later this afternoon/evening) is “Kicking the Bucket” from January, 2016. I’d call it a whimsical rant. What would you call it? I hope y’all enjoy.

Feria Parade in Colima

We took a half hour off to walk down three blocks to see the Feria Parade today. Some beautiful horses. Then back to work.

Took these photos at a wonderful house my friend Rachel is renting for next year. Designed by a famous architect. These posies were in his garden.

Reblog: Ritual

Hello, LifeLessons readers, OkcForgottenMan here again. Judy is in her second day at a writers retreat in Colima, so I’m here at her request to reblog some of her older poems. It’s a fun gig for me as I stroll back through her blog archive, wondering which to select. I’ve done this twice before, and I’m looking at her posts from 2016 this go-around.

Today, I’m picking a poem she posted in late January, 2016, called “Ritual“, simply because it describes what she is not doing this week. I hope y’all enjoy.
