I’m so excited. This is the first time I’ve seen my pistachio loaded with nuts. I’m sure the birds will get them all before they completely ripen, but at least I got this shot!!
And here is the same tree three weeks ago, when there were profuse blooms but no nuts that I could see.

How exciting!

A nut tree is a great thing to have. We covered our fruit trees with nets to keep the birds away.

I was just thinking that but seems sorta mean. I can buy a bag of pistachios from a guy who stands in the middle of the road. The birds can’t.

That is true, but the birds in our area have an entire protected bird park down the road to forage in. We do feed them during the winter months but during the summer, they must eat the berries in the park.

Yes, our birds have no dearth of things to eat. There are so many fruit trees, palms and other plants for them to eat. They just like my pistachios!!! I was speaking tongue-in-cheek. And most of the nuts are too high for me to reach, anyway. If they’d only leave me a few within arm’s reach!! ;o)

I hope you get a fw of the nuts before the birds get them!

My late parrot would have been all over that tree. Pistachios were his favorite food.

I like them, too. Wish the birds would leave me some. I’ve had exactly 1 pistachio on that tree in the almost 10 years since I planted it.
