Masked and Unmasked

Masked and Unmasked

Would you please exonerate me from my daily task
of hourly disinfectant and this horrid mask?
They’re needed for survival and using them is wise.
I believe the truth of it. I don’t believe the lies
that Donald tries to feed us about things getting better.
The west coast’s burning up as our southern coast gets wetter.
His conniption fits don’t reach me. I know he’s just selected
any random facts and words for getting reelected.
The only way to free us is to get some wiser folks
to  replace these charlatans that are merely jokes.
Self-serving puppets of the rich, they posture and they bluster.
They proudly go out maskless as they gather in his cluster.
The only way to save us is to vote these fools out.
It’s done no good to protest, to riot and to shout.
The finest weapon that we have is easier to tote.
Just put your mask and gloves on and hurry out to vote.
We’ll wear these masks forever until we pass away
if every single one of us doesn’t have our say.
If you’re my friend, please go and vote. It’s not much of a task.
And maybe in my lifetime I can get rid of this mask!!!!

Prompts today are lies, survive, conniption, exonerate and feed.

Wish he had relied less on the “F” word. It eventually made me just turn it off. I think his message would have gotten across better with just one or two usages…That said, everything he said I agree with.

No.. not offended. Just think sometimes overdoing a word lessens its effectiveness. I don’t think I’m offended by words.. just by intent, and in this case the intent doesn’t offend as I agree with it.

If I post from a browser, I have a choice of the dreaded block editor or the classic editor if I use wp-admin. Or, I can use the WordPress iOS app for the iPhone, which is a sort of “classic editor lite.”

No.. there is a way to still use classic editor on your computer. Did you see the instructions I sent you earlier? Believe me, it works. If, when you open a new post, you only type in a title, save, and close it. Then go to your administration page that has the list of all your posts and drafts, find that title and open it in edit, it opens in the classic editor. Finish making the post then, and save. I’ve been doing this since they first switched over to the block editor but I’ve never used the block editor. Try it. Another way is to just go to that administration page and find a draft you never completed. Erase what content is in it and use it to construct your next post. You may need to change the date and time of when to post it as sometimes it posts it at the time you originally had set to post it…Look in reader, and if you don’t see it, that is what happened. Just edit the time to post it.. setting it for a few minutes from your present time. This sounds complicated but it is very easy. Much easier than using the block editor.

I did try that. It may work on a computer, but it doesn’t work on an iPhone. I started writing a new post in block editor, just typed in the title “This is a Test,” saved it, and closed it. Then went to my list of draft posts, opened it in edit mode, and it took me to the block editor, not the classic. So I guess it’s the iPhone version of wordpress.com in a browser that is a problem.
