About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

This is wonderful. I learned about the these hero rats from my late friend Peter–and contributed to the organization that trains them as he’d requested before his death. I plan to continue contributing each year, as they save thousands of lives and limbs.

I discuss them near the bottom of this post:

Interesting. Rats cleaning up land mines some 40 years after the conflicts. We dropped / planted how many land mines !!!! I am not fond of the days life is stranger than fiction…

Guess it is nature’s plan. Good guys don’t kill each other… unless they are convinced by villains that other people are more villainous than they are. There are those in this world who stir up and those that calm. Unfortunately the stirrers are often more entertaining and persuasive than the calmers.
