The 12 day festival for the Virgin of Guadalupe is finally over. There were LOUD fireworks every day and night, but on the last two nights they went off constantly all night long. Yesterday, only the floral tributes remained. In Mexico, that usually calls for marigolds, and in the churches, roses, as they play a vital role in the story of the appearance of the Virgin.

What a wonderful tradition. How did your dogs do with all the fireworks? Mine would have gone nutso 😀

They didn’t respond at all until the very last night when they barked at a couple of the multiple explosions at once. They are Mexican dogs so they are used to it. The only thing that sets them off is opossums, other dogs and sirens. But their howling in harmony is so beautiful that I don’t discourage the reaction to sirens.
