The Spin

The Spin

I like your luminosity, your gusto and your style,
and I hope your personality is lacking in its guile.
They say that you are driven to prosper at your game
so all the folks who put you down will come to know your name.

But fame is not the whole of it. Other things count more.
One who strives for fame alone turns out to be a bore.
How you get to where you are means more than where you get.
Those doubling down on kindness almost always win their bet.

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

No — I’ve slowed down a little, but am about halfway through Becoming. I still have 2 or 3 more — how was Midnight Library? And I want to read the breakfast, lunch, and dinner with the Dalai Lama series, too. Another friend gave me a copy of Bill Gates book on vaccines, too. I have one more infusion session, then a month off, then a month of radiation once a week!
