Great Author Above
I’m tired of emotion. I’m up to my ears
in hysteria, sadness and terror and tears.
Bloodcurdling screams have become commonplace
along with sirens and gunshots and mace.
Our souls have been dirtied by leaders who lie
as they help themselves to their pieces of pie.
If there is a God, then this is the time
for him to step in and infuse some sublime
grace in a world that has gone much astray.
Yet we pay and we pay and we pay and we pay
with innocent blood while the rich all get fatter,
as though this whole world’s ruled by the Mad Hatter.
If this is true and we’re living a fable,
great Author Above, if you’re willing and able,
write a new ending, preferably happy,
and hear my plea to please make it snappy!!!
Prompts today are emotion, dirty, bloodcurdling and tears.
O~M~G~! Wow~!; pour your self a good strong drink, No help coming from God, you took care of that, but a few of us out here are preying for you~! No, wait a minute, I just remembered, I am having the same problem~!
A good strong Moscow Mule should help~! Or a glass of “Old Southern Comfort” on ice.
He’ll take care of it, never fear. We are His creation, after all.
Grace is exactly what’s needed, but I fear we must offer it to each other. That we don’t may be exactly the problem.
I’ve been watching Lucifer and the new God (the previous one retired) is planning to live on earth and try to stop with the mystery and start talking to humans again. Now THAT might convince me!
I had decided not to watch but I’ll try it on your recommendation, Marilyn.
