Yesterday, torrential morning rains kept Oscar away from his usual Friday morning visit to walk the dogs. Zoe sat by the door for most of the morning, whining and hoping for his arrival. This morning, she did the same. Poor baby. She won’t be walking on Monday, either, as she is scheduled to be spayed. I’ll take her for a walk today.

Yes, it was pitiful, Suzette. She keeps hoping. She’ll go crazy all week after her spaying until she can finally go along with the big dogs and Oscar again.

She is, but still feels like a baby to me. She’s now five times the weight she was when I got her. Two pounds a month.

It is embarrassing how much I love this little dog. I constantly gush and then feel glad there is no one around to hear my inanities.

You know you aren’t. Years ago, I had a rottweiler. That girl was HUGE, but very gentle and sociable. She’d place her paws on people’s shoulders and try to lick their faces. I’d have to pay for dry cleaning and explain that she is not scary and obnoxious, but friendly and loving.

You are a sweet animal lover. Some people love their fancy clothes more than an adorable doggie. She looked scary, though, but it was deceptive.

I love all my dogs, but there is something special about having one you can pick up in your arms and hug and who snuggles up to you in bed to sleep.
