These photos were taken within a 30 minute period when I was in the pool very early Thursday morning. and started when all three dogs came up at the same time vying for my attention. Some of the photos definitely need to be enlarged to see them adequately. To enlarge photos, just click on them.

    I don’t know what I’d take pictures of if I didn’t have birds and dog. They always seem to be demanding MORE attention 🙂 Especially the dogs. And well, birds too. They actually fly almost ON me when they are hungry and I’m late with the food!

        I don’t know. The Duke is not great with other dogs. He’s not hostile, but he doesn’t seem to know how to just be friends with other dogs. Also, dogs are CRAZY expensive, even adoptable ones.

            No. The adoption places charge you and what they are now charging you for adopting a dog is what you used to pay a breeder for a purebred. The rest of it just comes with the dog! Oh the stories I could tell. Okay, I have told.

              That’s ridiculous. Do people not have dogs that have puppies anymore that they are anxious to give away? Down here, they have people bring puppies up to Canada and the states when they fly up…Don’t know if they charge the people on the other end but they show dogs with their new owners all the time…and it costs nothing to adopt them here. Every one of my dogs has just come to me. Just for my own info I’m going to see whether they charge anything for the dogs they fly northwards…

              All the adoption (in Massachusetts) groups charge upwards of $400 for a “senior dog,” older than 9 or 10, and much more for a young dog or puppy. How/why can they do this? Well, it’s individual by group and it’s state by state. In some cases, you might just as well go to a breeder and buy a puppy.

              Some facilities are much worse than others, but they are all busy making it difficult to adopt. Which I think is stupid. You need written recommendations from your vet, your friends and family. They want to inspect your home. Is your fence high enough? It’s ridiculous. They’ve made so intrusive, expensive and difficult, we’ve given up. You can take in foster children with fewer intrusions into your personal life than in adopting a dog.
